Yvonne Lembo LTSP

Claimed by Jesus Christ, Yvonne Jones Lembo, was born into a family of Christian leaders in the African-American Pentecostal movement. From those strong Christian roots,Yvonne has grown up and branched out in fellowship and service throughout the Body of Christ for more than 35 years.

The Lord has gifted Yvonne in prayer and the ministry of the Word through singing, writing, speaking, preaching and teaching. She has served God’s people through pastoral care, music ministry, intercessory prayer, women’s ministry, and children and youth ministry. Christ has extended His mercy through Yvonne’s service in hospital chaplaincy, nursing home visitation, outreach to the homeless and families in need, support for those in recovery and ministry to immigrants and refugees. Joyfully, Yvonne has witnessed the Gospel of Jesus Christ through campus ministry, street ministry, prison ministry, and worldwide evangelism in the Caribbean, Europe and Africa.

From 1999-2008, Yvonne served with CrossWorld, an international evangelical mission agency, coordinating prayer, stimulating worship and mobilizing African-Americans for missions. In 2008, Yvonne began Master of Divinity studies at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP). She expects to graduate in 2013. She presently serves full-time with the seminary as a Philanthropic Advisor, cultivating LTSP’s  Lutheran, ecumenical and multicultural relationships to increase financial support for the seminary’s mission. Yvonne is a candidate for rostered ministry with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). From 2009-2011, Yvonne served as Vicar with St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, pastored by the Rev. Dr. Charles Leonard.  In October 2012, Yvonne was consecrated as an Evangelist Missionary with the Church of God in Christ, the denomination of her heritage.

Yvonne is

 passionately committed to reaching a new generation with the Gospel through church planting and mission development. For the past two years, she has devoted herself to strategic service with emerging urban congregations. From 2010-2012, she served as Minister of Music for Holy Nation Baptist Church, a three-year-old congregation in North Philadelphia founded and pastored by LTSP graduate, the Rev. Reginald Johnson. She presently serves as Chief Ministry Officer with Catalyst for Change Church of God in Christ, a rapidly growing five-year-old congregation in West Philadelphia founded and pastored by Princeton Seminary graduate and COGIC Elder, the Rev. Keon A. Gerow.
